Hi there. I love your homeschool picks. I happen to cross over to @weekly studies@ which I don't think ever mentioned in your videos. Is it extremely affordable even though I think for Science it lacks the lab envoirnment. The great thing is it is also published in Spanish for Science and Social Sciences. I was a fond of this programme mostly because I think it is a great one for English as a second language lerners (as well as Spanish as a foreign language lerners)

Thank you love your review. I have never tried TGTB I have skimmed it and not interested.. . I use primarily Abeka Math/Social studies/ Science, Evan Moore Spelling /language... And IEW ( I don't make my daughter do the nit picky stuff) it works for us, we also use Avancemos for Spanish. Tried teaching text books but I like Abeka it works for us I love math and we are sticking to it K-12

Great video!! Out of curiosity do you feel like it’s OK to use their middle school levels for high school when it comes to history? We are in a very “laxed” homeschool state. I’ve been thinking about using their middle school levels for high school. We haven’t used their curriculum before, but I know it’s very solid/in-depth curriculum..

We use TGTB and we have never seen any type of mormon doctrine. The video you are referring to was created by someone who praised TGTB until she decided to make her own curriculum, then she bashed them. I don't really think it was about doctrine because, well, there is NONE.

I’ve really struggled with history and science. Since my daughter is a reluctant reader, I think the ACE Paces for social studies and science would be awesome to knock out those two subjects while covering reading and comprehension.

This is a great idea! I think a binder will work better for me as well!

How many days a week is required to get through this curriculum in 1 year? How is the book reading? Is it dry or interesting? Also are there activity pages every day you read or do a lesson? Thanks!

Thanks for the video! I feel I’ve been given a 2nd chance with my 19 y/o daughter as she has moved back home, to help guide her through life as it’s been very difficult for her. On top of that I didn’t do a very good job being dad in the past. Life skills is what she needs along with re-establishing our relationship. Her life skills are severely lacking due to anxiety. I love my little girl so much and want the best for her. Asking for prayer with wisdom and to hear from the Holy Spirit knowing when to listen and when to speak and to know what to speak at the right time. Thank you for this information.

Teaching textbooks gets tons of meh and complaints. I wish I had time to make them a good tutorial video. I have so many tips that are basically in their program that people just don’t think to use. Biggest one is to still use paper and pencil. Especially when viewing a solution, we do the solution on paper along with the animation for that tactile component of memory. I’m mostly convinced that when people praise moving to another curriculum it’s mostly due to the fact that they are now using paper and pencil.

The critical thinking company makes up a big old basket in my house that the kids go through like candy 😂 So much fun!!

Yes happy to see more videos about this stage of life. I am in my 40s and I feel I am definitely learning a lot about myself and trying to change the things that are not serving me. I have also been more emotional and anxious. Remember you are in the age bracket for perimenopause, so that may have something to do with your increased crying. Thanks for your video. 😊

Vacuum sealing some things for long periods of time (like stuffed animals) can damage them. It can deform them or damage the stuffing inside. Vacuum bags are supposed to be a short term solution, even though many of us use them for much longer. Some materials hold up well to long term storage but certain things that are meant to be fluffy, like sleeping bags and stuffies, should be left so.

My dad told me that parenting never gets easier. Whether your child is 9 or 55 years old, you will still worry and your child will still test you. What changes are your levels of worry, but that the amount of love and understanding you have for your child keeps growing and growing. Which is very needed especially in the world we live in. And that how you see your child and how they see you changes over time. It's not awlays a bad thing though. But also that sometimes your child is just going to drive you crazy. I feel like I could write a book in this comments section! First of all, yes please we need videos on your journey of self improvement and not giving up on yourself!!! I have been having so many of those feelings lately, so definitely needing inspiration! Second, my oldest is 13.5 and I am absolutely dreading having her graduate and get a job and move out, be in relationships, etc. The whole thing terrifies me. I have 5 more behind her; so I want to get it as right as I can from the start, instead of just bumbling my way through. I seriously appreciate you doing this video, thank you!!!

I truly appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. Recently, I turned 44 and have 2 boys (15 and 14), and I can tell you that I am feeling all the same things you spoke about. Some days it’s so hard for me to function with how many thoughts I have in my head (along with the crying, also). Our kids are living in such a different world than what we grew up in, so it’s even harder for us as parents to understand at times. The thing I’m learning slowly is that it’s going to take a lot of patience, prayers, and grace for ourselves and our kids. I pray for these things for you, Becky. It’s definitely a new road for us all and you’re not alone.

I definitely relate to this with a 14 and 18 yr old. I actually think this stage is so much harder than when they were little.

I deeply appreciate that you made this video Becky. Thank you. There is so much in life that I struggle with and feel behind in, or that I didn't do well in, but when I had my girls I put all my efforts and focus into them, and it hasn't been until recently, in trying to prepare them more for the world and just having to confront issues that are typical for their age, that I am having to revisit my own anxiety and lack of self confidence and not wanting to mess things up for them. It just feels like this intense pressure, and then throw perimenopause into the mix, and all of the other things going on, and it is quite a roller coaster ride. I feel less alone now, and I would love to see more videos like this.

THANK YOU for this video! I needed this. I have a 21 and 18 year old and 2 younger ones right behind them. I’ve homeschooled the older and still homeschooling my younger ones. Raised them in a Christian home but this world is so hard to live in right now. The influences are so bad and these poor young adults are trying to enjoy and live life but it’s hard out there. I pray for them often and hope like you have said my younger children learn from all that we are going through with my older ones. It’s been a learning experience for me to to try to navigate them through this life that has changed so much since I was their age. Again, thank you for this video. I don’t feel so alone. I wish more people talked about this.

I can so relate. My daughters are 19, 17 and 14 and I'm being tested daily and have to step back and analyze my parenting. Definitely trying times, this shall pass.
